Peer Review Process

Prior to their publication in the ITMSOC-IBE the scientific articles are reviewed by peer with regard to their form and contents. No article will be published without this peer review which ensures that the scientific standards are met.

The articles are reviewed twice and blindly: At first, the printable electronic version is checked by the editorial staff, represented by its chairman with regard to its form, especially the correct classification, as well as its completeness and machine readability.

The classification is proposed by the author and checked by the editorial staff in agreement with the editor. The two peers are chosen from the specific subject group in cyclical, alphabetical order. If the publication can be allocated to two categories it may be reviewed by one peer from each subject group. Furthermore, reviewing peers should not work at the same institute or company or in the same location. Publications will be reviewed anonymously so that the peers do not know the author and vice versa. The peers have a choice of the following recommendation categories:

Based on these recommendations the editorial board, represented by its chairman, decides on the publication of an article. The author will be informed about its decision and motivations. When an article is accepted for publication with reservation the revised version will be reviewed by at least one other peer prior to publication. A publication in the ITMSOC-IBE is free of charge as far as no translations or technical revisions are required and ordered separately by the author from the editorial staff of the ITMSOC-IBE. The author shall supply a significant abstract of his article in English only.
